Rory McIlroy (34, Northern Ireland), who won the first tournament of the new year, has firmly maintained his first place in the men’s golf world rankings.
In the world rankings announced on the 31st, McIlroy recorded an average of 8.71 points and maintained first place. After winning the CJ Cup in October of last year and regaining the world number one spot, he has been reigning at the top for over three months.
McIlroy was threatened by John Rahm (Spain), who won two of the last three tournaments on the PGA Tour. However, Ram finished tied for 7th at the Farmers Insurance Open, and McIlroy won the DP World Tour Hero Dubai Desert Classic held the same week, ruining Ram’s return to the top spot. 스포츠토토
Rahm maintained the third place in the world rankings behind second place Scotty Scheffler (USA). Cameron Smith (Australia), Patrick Cantley, and Zander Chopley (Above USA) also kept 4th to 6th places. Colin Morikawa (USA) swapped 7th and 8th places with Will Jaratoris (USA), and Justin Thomas (USA) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (England) finished 9th and 10th.
Kim Joo-hyung (21) fell one notch to 14th, but recorded the highest ranking among Korean players, and Lim Seong-jae (25), who ranked 4th alone, the highest ranking this season at Farmers Insurance, rose one notch to 18th.
Lee Kyung-hoon (32) was ranked 39th and Kim Si-woo (28) was 41st.
Patrick Reed (USA), who finished runner-up behind McIlroy by one stroke at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, raised his ranking from 90th to 57th. Reid is also on the DP World Tour, where world ranking points are applied, as LIV golf does not earn world ranking points.
