The Doosan Bears Baseball Tournament was held for the first time in four years due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The tournament was divided into elementary (U13) and little divisions. The 37th Seoul U13 Baseball Tournament was held from July 10 to 17 at Guui Baseball Stadium, with 21 teams participating. In the Little Division, the 36th Little Baseball Championship, 25 teams, including two local teams from District 2, competed for the title from July 25 to 29 at Jangchung Little Baseball Field and Hwaseong Dream Park.

The elementary school won the championship and the runner-up was Dogok. The Little Division was won by Yeongdeungpo-gu Little Baseball Team and the runner-up was Nowon-gu Little Baseball Team.

In addition to the awards ceremony, the tournament also held a pitching and hitting ceremony for the winners. Primary Division Most Valuable Player (MVP) Lee Ha-joon (13, catcher) and Little Division MVP Kim Hyun-jae (14, pitcher/outfielder) were the first to pitch. “I’m really happy to be able to pitch for my favorite team, Doosan,” said Lee. My dream is to become a catcher representing Korea like Yang Ji,” he said. Kim Hyun-jae said, “Thank you for giving me unforgettable memories for the rest of my life. I want to grow up to be a great pitcher like Kwak Bin.”

Doosan has been committed to the development of grassroots baseball since 1986, when it organized the first children’s baseball tournament.
